AI Workflows

AI Workflows are automated or streamlined tasks that can be performed using AI. They can be data-driven, adaptive, or even reactive. AI agents perform the tasks that would be tedious and time-consuming for your employees. The workflows can use your CRM software to provide contextual information to make decisions for the automated task. Unlike traditional automation, AI can handle complex information that may require different interpretations.

What is the difference between Traditional Automation and AI Workflows?

The major difference between the two is that traditional automation only executes commands for which a developer has provided rules; it mimics human behavior. So, it would be set up to do the same thing a person would be doing, but it would be faster and have minimal errors.  Workflows make decisions using data or adapt by learning new information over time. They can automate cognitive or complex processes like sorting information or drawing reports from the information they sorted. This allows them to handle tasks on their own, whereas traditional automation is often used as a tool.  Task-wise, the biggest difference is the type of work that can be accomplished by AI vs a bot.  AI can handle when the task has exceptions or variations. The traditional automation does not function if there is an exception or if the software it is working with changes in any way.

examples:

An example of a traditional automation are email rules. Emails from “x” sender go to this folder.  You are telling the automation that if this first parameter is met then it needs to go here.

An example of an automated workflow is document workflow automation; an AI can categorize and send documents to their proper departments based on any factors you give it.

Traditional and AI automations often work together; AI can be thought of as the brain, while traditional automation is the hand that completes the task.

Workflows have many benefits, driving efficiency, reducing human error, and allowing your employees to work on the projects that really matter.
